Kitty Tactics is a turn-based tactics game where you play as a cute cat and try to expand your territory. You'll do so by chasing away other cats through tactical combat, becoming stronger by learning new jobs and skills, and forging bonds with the other kitties in the courtyard!

Every other cat besides yourself will also try and expand their territory. They'll hold grudges and remember favours to drive their actions and behaviours, so use this to your advantage. Becoming stronger through combat is one way of getting an edge over the other cats, but beware if you're left without allies that can cover for your weaknesses.

There are lots of unique jobs and skills to unlock by levelling up; Become a knight, witch, warden and so much more! You can combine skills from multiple jobs to make your kitty truly unique! Decide the jobs and skills of your allies as well to make a team that can fend of any invader!

After getting friendly with another cat, you can even make new kitties to help you expand and defend your empire. They'll inherit the jobs of their parents, but still hold their own dream job in mind.

ABOUT THE DEVELOPER

Ibe Denaux is a robotics engineer from Belgium who started developing this debut game in his spare time since april of 2020. Kitty Tactics started out as a goofy simulation about pixelized cats, but grew into what it is today as soon as the developer discovered how cute the cats would look with fantasy themed hats.

During development, Ibe has teamed up with Rupert Cole as the audio designer of the game. Rupert is a talented UK-based musician who has previously done work on video games and films, both indie and major.

Even though this game is Ibe's first foray into game development, he has no plans of stopping, and aims to make full use of the creative medium.

This is a unique game I had fun, especially when I figured out how fight back. Made this thumbnail for my channel.

A SMALL GUIDE FOR ANYBODY HAVING TROUBLE
(as of May 16, 2020)

CONTROLS: WASD moves you around, but you need to use Q/E to turn manually. Left-click shoots web; use this to attack other crawlers. Right-click turns on your screen once you get at least 1 signal; I'm not really sure what the point of this is, but it can help if you aren't sure what the most recent signal you got was.

1. Know what you're after. There are 5 different signals you need to collect. You can tell what signal any crawler has by looking at their screen. They will either have an Eye, a Nose, a pair of Lips, an open Mouth, or simply show Static.

2. You need headphones. The directional audio is very important in order to locate any targets or threats that are nearby. You can tell what type of crawler is nearby from the sound they make: white noise for Statics, low groaning for Mouths, wet smacking for Lips, and VERY quiet sniffing for Noses. Be very careful of Eyes; they do NOT make noise and can easily sneak up on you.

3. Don't try to take the signal of a crawler who is trying to attack you! Once you're spotted, that's it, and ANY contact with them will kill you instead of taking their signal. Just web 'em up so they aren't a threat, and leave them there, simple as that.

4. You can see farther away at an angle. Try moving your camera around; do you notice how much farther you can see towards the edge of the screen? You can use that to your advantage. When following the source of a sound, try and carefully inch close enough to check which way the crawler is facing, and position yourself so you come at them from behind. This can turn a head-on confrontation into an easy signal acquisition, or at the very least, one less threat to worry about. If you're vigilant with this, you can even prevent a potential surprise attack from the quieter crawler types, which are by far the biggest threat in this game, imo.

5. This will probably take a while. No matter how careful you are, there is ALWAYS the potential for an Eye crawler to come barreling out of the darkness towards you faster than you can even turn around and ruin your 4/5 run. However, if you're stubborn like me, hopefully this helps prevent that at least a little bit ;)

Good luck!

This was pretty fun! I couldn't figure out why I was only getting the signal some of the time, though. All in all, it was a good experience!

art style amazing but yet i felt more my skin was crawling !!!

Yep, definitely made my skin crawl.

Do you use a Mac? Another Mac user has had the same issue

This was surprisingly fun and creepy. Worth it to see the ending screen. My favorite little detail is how the the loud blare echoes when you collect a new signal. One nitpick is that it took me a while to figure out I could hold down the left mouse button to attack and not just click once. LOL

lol

Started off fun but then pissed me off. Cool concept tho.

This is really fun but a bit tough for me.

Would you consider adding game pad support?

Tiny Tactics (itch) Mac Os X

Thanks, sorry but since it was a jam game the input code that I wrote is quite messy and it'd take a fair amount more work to add controller support - I'll do my best to include it by default for future games though

That's ok. Your using unity right? The new input system can be a bit tricky but useful once you get the hang of it.
