Premiere is doing better on the Mac by using Metal over CUDA. This makes me wonder about performance we will see in Octane, Redshift, and Autodesk software once they get ported to the Mac around the Mac Pro release. This also makes me wonder if metal is going to level the playing field against CUDA in the future. Apple's latest antics with XServe, Java, Lion only available from the Mac App Store, the iOS-ation of Mac OS X and Final Cut Pro X means that nobody knows what Apple's focus is (probably least of all Apple) and here Mozilla might be right in saying that they don't want to dedicate resources to an enterprise version of Firefox on Mac OS X.
