Being young and unaware of where your life is going is a pretty common thing, although most youngsters learn what they want from life before it’s too late. Whether it’s education, love or a job, almost everyone has a tough decision to make at one point in their early twenties, and sometimes the effects of this decisions have reverberations throughout their entire life.
Three people interact with each other’s destinies
Lifted Dreams is a casual visual novel in which you get to hear the story of three people as they interact with each other and change themselves in the process. Granted, it’s not the most touching story out there, but you can easily relate with at least one of the characters if you are young yourself. In addition, you can also make a few decisions and replay the experience multiple times.
In essence, the story revolves around a boy by the name of Jeff, who’s an aspiring artist trying to make a name for himself in the field. The other two characters are his love interests, namely Faye and Chelsea. They also have dreams and separate personalities, which means that it’s up to you to choose one of them as Jeff’s partner, or even replay the game to see both options in action.
Gorgeous artwork and complete voice acting
The game’s biggest flaw is the fact that it’s a bit too short, not to mention way too simple to really make you think. There are too few characters and too little intrigue in the beginning to get people interested in the story. Not only that, but the characters are pretty empty and shaky as well, given the fact that their whole lives, plus motivations and beliefs are explained in a few paragraphs.
On the other hand, you at least get to marvel at a couple of wonderful backgrounds and paintings, which is great if you enjoy art and the anime style in particular. The character design is typical for the aforementioned style, but that shouldn’t be a problem if you know what you’re getting into. On top of it all, every line is voice acted, and there’s a soundtrack playing in the background as well.
Brighten your day in half an hour
All things considered, Lifted Dreams may not change your life with its story, but it can brighten your day if you are feeling particularly down. In addition, the artwork is very sharp, which is always great news in a visual novel.

Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams” has been enjoying a fresh surge of popularity after a feel-good TikTok video of a guy named Nathan Apodaca went viral and essentially broke the internet. The song is an absolute classic and one that helped propel the band’s magnum opus “Rumours” to the top of the charts.
Written by Stevie Nicks, it’s no secret that sessions for “Rumours” were filled with tension and animosity because at the time, relationships among members were either crumbling or have already ended. As for Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham, they broke up after eight years. It was challenging for them because according to Buckingham, they had to keep their “personal feelings in one corner of the room while trying to be professional in the other.” Still, they managed to trade barbs through their songs.
Nicks told Blender magazine, “One day when I wasn’t required in the main studio. I took a Fender Rhodes piano and went into another studio that was said to belong to Sly Stone, of Sly and the Family Stone. It was a black-and-red room, with a sunken pit in the middle where there was a piano, and a big black-velvet bed with Victorian drapes.”
She continues, “I sat down on the bed with my keyboard in front of me. I found a drum pattern, switched my little cassette player on and wrote ‘Dreams’ in about 10 minutes. Right away I liked the fact that I was doing something with a dance beat, because that made it a little unusual for me.”
Looking closely at the lyrics, it’s pretty much about what was happening to her and Buckingham. She lets him go but not without some bitterness especially with the lines “But listen carefully / To the sound of your loneliness / Like a heartbeat drives you mad / In the stillness of remembering what you had / And what you lost / And what you had.”

Still, both of them put music first before their personal feelings and ironically, it was Lindsey Buckingham who transformed the song. When Nicks presented it to the group, they weren’t exactly enthusiastic but Christine McVie revealed to Q magazine that “the Lindsey genius came into play and he fashioned three sections out of identical chords, making each section sound completely different. He created the impression that there’s a thread running through the whole thing.”
